Silversearch work in partnership with our candidates.
We place candidates from board level to graduate trainee within search, search & selection and contingent recruiters. Our clients include niche consultancies, global corporate players and select search firms.
We constantly watch the market to ensure we have links with the best Companies for you and we are committed to finding you the best possible opportunity where you can realise your full potential.
We offer a confidential, face to face interview at a convenient location for you. During the interview we aim to understand your key achievements, capabilities and aspirations so we can help you to plan your career.
The way we work is very proactive. Of course we always have instructions for a selection of roles across London and The Thames Valley, but if what you are looking for does not fit any of those, we do not try to fit a square peg into a round hole we will proactively seek the right type of role for you. Hence, meeting is essential for us to get to know you but also for you to feel comfortable with our representation of you.
We pride ourselves on our recruitment process ensuring 360' communication throughout, offering full briefing information and interview advice.
We guarantee honest feedback within an hour of the decision. We believe that interview feedback is the most important part of the process.

- RESEARCH: Always do your research- Know the interviewing Company's business. This includes studying their website and understanding what they do. Look at recent press releases that have been written. Read all the briefing information provided, know exactly who you are seeing, what their position is and most importantly where and when the interview is taking place.
- PREPARE YOUR DETAILS: You are going for an interview - you need to know about yourself. This sounds very basic but you must know your own C.V. - know all the dates and your reasons for leaving each position. You must also know your targets, results and be able to articulate your achievements for each position. You must know the answers to basic financial questions: Your average fee/temp margin, average hourly rates/salary levels, how many temps out/ perm placements a month, what business have you brought on board personally, what level your contacts are within their organisations (e.g. - line manager / HR / Director level) etc.
- BUSINESS DRESS: Remember first impressions count. You want the interviewer to remember you for you - not for what you were wearing. Always think crisp, sharp and professional. Always wear a dark suit, ideally with a white shirt/blouse (ironed!) and for men - not a wild tie! Remember clean shoes.
- FIRST IMPRESSION: Firm handshake. This is very important - you don't want to crush their hand but you don't want a really limp handshake. This does take practice- so practice with a friend.
- INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Asking questions gives the interviewer a good indication of your interest in their company and the position. There are always at least 3 questions you can ask- these are 11, 12, and 13. A great way to think of questions to ask is to consider being asked to start the job tomorrow - do you know everything you need to know in order to start?
Interview Questions to ask:
- What training will I be given?
- How have the profits of the business been affected over the last 12 months and what are your forecasts over the next 12 months?
- What is their top consultant billing/ earning?
- What is their top consultant's background?
- Why do they work for the company? ( i.e. ask the interviewer)
- How will I be targeted? i.e. financially/ number of temps out/perm placements etc.
- What are your expectations with regards to targets in the first 6 months- 12 months?
- If I prove yourself and hit my targets where do they see you in twelve months time?
- How do you split the clients?
- How do you assign candidates?
- What reservations do you have about me? (Always overcome the reservation.)
- What is the next stage in the interview process?
- At the end tell the interviewer that you want the job and why. Confirm the next meeting or even the OFFER!!!!
I am really interested in the position because of
. Is there any more information I can tell you about me to convince you that I can do the job?
If yes - answer the question.
If no - That's great - all I want to say is that I want the opportunity to join the company when can I start/when can I come back for a second interview?
- FINALLY: Always thank the interviewer for their time.
Good Luck!
